YAYYAYYAYYAYYAY!!!
I got on the bursary scheme! Got great feedback from the chaps running it and have to pop in on Friday to hand over paperwork and whatnot. Will be up to £4000 over 36 weeks, with £500 worth of mentoring and seminar-type thingies to keep my bum kicked HURRAH!!! Get the first installment in December, so as soon as I've done my smithing I can invest in the tools and materials and get cracking on the new Connemara-inspired stuff I've got inmind for the exhibition - can't wait!

Saturday markets
Started the Saturday Arts Organisation markets last Sat - REALLY quiet!!! Sold two things, both to fellow stallers!!
So, need to publicise it amongst whoever I can think of this week, and see if I can get any of the Connectors to have a go - would probably be appropriate for Hannah, Gizella, maybe some of Beth's smaller pieces, perhaps Carl once it gets a bit more custom!
Anyway, will get on the blog and ask...

Beyond the Gallery....
...module needs to be looked at - already contacted Fashion BA lecturers to start the ball rolling to see if the Fahion Degree Show would be something I could collaborate on, i.e. be the jewellery designer/supplier for the show, so working in collaboration with the design students to create jewellery that fits their collections. Would be working to quite a tight commission I expect so challenging, but great to get stuck in once I've got my silver work going.
Will get back in touch with them this week, by Friday 9th.

GRANT...not mitchell, clearly
Dammit I'm itching to find out if I've got the SPEED bursary...deadline's 19th October, which is when we leave for Ireland so I might hear something when I get back.... have so many things it could help me with, it'll take me ages to get into glasswork without some extra income.
Managed to get a place on a smithing workshop in December - really lucky, I couldn't find anything else with any spaces this side of Easter - pretty useless if I want to develop things for the exhibition. So yep, it's Adie's Christmas pressie to me :) Three whole days of making stuff, fabbo.
Anyhoo, should be able to get on with some work tonight, need to make stuff for Evie and me for the wedding at the weekend...fancy bronzite for me... pink for Evie. Will post pics.

Hurrah...
..am extremely glad to have been given the kick up the backside provided by Monday's shambolic presentation! Took the entire evening last night to re-organise my whole workspace (not least because I now know The Mentor will come to have a butcher's at some point heheheh). Feels much better in my headspace, and is much more 'ready' to be worked in.
A bit torn at the mo with what to do for the exhibition - during the presentations Jess brought up the issue Design Factory have about having a "consistent voice" - my stuff is all over the place in terms of any individual style, but the one thing that stands out above the others is the spaghetti bolognese stuff. I've already thought about expanding that side of things, and have been sketching like crazy since Monday night. Have ordered loads of materials to realise the designs...only thing is, while I love those pieces and have had great feedback, I really want to investigate what I can do with the rock cores at The Collection... polymer clay folds, with some seams and veins of silver and copper running through intrigues me...
Will get on with the spag bol as I know I can sell that on the markets - of which I incidentally have loads now!! Liam Woodgates emailed to say I was more than welcome to take part in the Nottingham market he's organised, and that's every Sat - I'll start on 3rd November - great way of testing the water :)
So, overall, happy bunny - nicer to have too many ideas than none at all eh?
